Rosendal is the center of the south western most alpine mountains. They are often called the Rosendal alps. Here you will find long rows of peaks with steep mountain sides, green valleys and bare mountains. To the west is the Hardangerfjord and to the east is the country’s third largest glacier, Folgefonna.

The hiking opportunities in the area offer variety and excitement. You will find hiking trips suitable for both families and for those seeking the more extreme. The most popular trips are Melderskin (1426 meter above sea level) and Malmangernuten (890 meters above sea level). We also recommend the trips to Skålafjell, Nordlifjell, Bjørndalssetra, Skeisfjell og Solfjell.
